It's a stunning kitchen! What brand cabinet did you use? What type of subway tile will you be using?

Thanks so much. The cabinets are Ikea - I assembled them all myself. My husband added the crown mouldings above the wall cabinets and above the small white glassed cabinet which we kept from the old kitchen. I am thinking we will use plain white subway tile, possibly bevelled 3 x 6 white tile. This was a budget reno that we were able to do on a very modest budget. We are recent retirees who had a bit of cash left from the sale of our former home, which we sold to move to this 1890's small town home.

Thank you so much to everyone for your kind words. We are retirees with limited funds and the need to remain debt free, so it was important to us to keep costs down. When people talk about kitchen renos, the number $40,000 pops up. We spent $7000 plus $3000 for appliances that we bought last year when we purchased the home - so $10,000 total (plus sweat equity). The countertops are Formica (Argento Romano). Laminate may not be the most popular choice right now, but we like them a lot, installed them ourselves, and if we want to upgrade in the future, the option is there. The backsplash remains to be done, but I don't expect the cost to be very high. We will install it ourselves.

Anyway, the holidays are coming and so is the family, so I guess we had better start cooking! Thanks to all and wishing you all the best for the holidays.
