FINALLY! Help me accessorize Room!

Finally after months of trying to redo my family room, I am happy to say that I now have a TV, console, and sofa. The shape of this room made it difficult to find something that worked. Now I need to accessorize it! Looking for an accent chair, but not sure about placement. Coffee table is not necessary as I have young kids and would like to keep the room open. My windows have roller shades in grey color.

So I am looking for pillows, side tables, a lamp possibly, fireplace decor, curtains, and other accessories. Thank you!

Have you checked out CB2? They have some nice accessories that might go with your style sofa and rug. I particularly think a pop of orange would be nice (accent pillows perhaps).

yes i was thinking of pillows too! I will check out CB2. Thanks!

Love the couch. I would add some silloutte blinds on the windows, maybe something in a lighter color. Maybe a couple of poufs in front o window in case you need extra seating. If you do decide on a center piece for the floor a large square ottoman would be great for your kids as well as adding a tray on it for food and such. On the fireplace I would add some candle sticks or hurricanes with candles to add some warmth to the room. Also pillows and a throw and maybe a little art on the walls. Looks great so far!

If no coffee table, you might want a side table between the couch and window so there's somewhere to put a drink or snack if you need to. Drapes would be nice just for accent since you have the shades. These chairs come in some fun colors.

This room has elements that could work in your room and they all relate to one another which is important so that the room does not look like a showroom......two or more items have relations ships thru color shape texture weight.

Large orange art and tall lamp that has similar lines and color and pattern.

Pillows in green in geometric shape to mimic the rug and coordinate with the small textured striped pair of chairs. They are small and neat but look inviting and comfy.

Natural cocktail table that relates to the greenery in the corner; an organic or living element seen in wood and plant.

Glass objects on cocktail table to add some roundness to soften the room.

Also chekc out more info in the picture to see more ideas.

Love what you are doing in the room.

I would hang the tv on the wall. Roman shades would look nice with a pattern to match you color. Or, pick the fabric and work around the colors in them.

I agree with all the comments about tv on wall, leaves rooms for a couple of softening accessories on console. Also, don't forget plants! I also agree on poufs: extra seating, flexible functionality as tables, ottomans, seating.

Consider a nice floor lamp with some black -- perhaps the shade to ground the room a bit, given the high ceiling. I would look for a sea grass ottoman (kids can't hurt them) to add a little texture and give some contrast to the "gray" tones and white walls. The come as large baskets with lids, so they could act as toy storage as well for quick pick up times! A small tray and some books would make up a nice clean look.

We carry many large artwork that will look good above your couch: www.ShoaGallery.com.

Some suggestions below. The space looks great!

Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions! I am debating between orange or yellow pillows. I will probably extend the rug also since it seems too small with the sofa.

Hey guys! If I want to add more seating in my room, how can I make that work?

What about a cushion top 'coffeetable' with storage?

OR perhaps this little table with storage seating?

i think you might be able to squeeze a chair over by the fireplace, and a small frame one in the opening? fairly tight squeeze though. these i often find to be fairly small.

Thanks. I can always pull the sofa more away from the window to create more space.

or put one by the tv facing the sofa

i would measure carefully and use tape.
