Hi! The chalkboard was a mirror purchased at a local home improvement store that was then spray painted silver and painted with chalkboard paint. How you mount something on the wall depends on what it is, how much it weights, what the wall is like, and so forth. I would have used drywall anchors on the chalkboard (unless I hit a stud). For the linear wine racks I installed extra studs behind to ensure that the screws always hit studs. Make sure to follow the manufacturer recommended installation instructions. Good luck!
