How much sun does it get?

One idea is a mulch path surrounded by a flower bed leading to a bench, swing or hammock.

is this always gated? just continue with your rocks and put stepping stones like auntthelma suggested. put down a weed barrier first. Probably need one in the other one as well..

Is this open to backyard? Or front yard? Can you take photo from further back? Might be just a line of tall cypress would give some green and yet be low maintenance. Who needs to maintain a long narrow piece of ground?

If this area gets enough sun I'd do espaliered fruit trees and roses on the side of the garage. Continue the curve from the front around the corner and end it on the side of the house. I would use large stepping stones - arranged geometrically with grass or ground cover growing inbetween.
