You can have the handrail and Newell posts stained to match your new floors. Just had this done and it looks great.

Or if it's too expensive you could just paint the whole banister and posts in white.

Paint the hand rail espresso or black paint the post white like the spindles

I have the same exact railing, same color and I had a quote this wk from wonderful guy w/Ironwood connections in dallas. I selected style with scroll deign in the center section and small detail design/knob style on all the other.
Got a fantastic quote and feel certain they will do a great job Friday when they install the job! Can't wait to see finished product.

Goodbetterbest My floors are white oak that had yellowed badly. I had original floors refinished and new #1white oak hardwoods installed on entire first floor. New floors were 'laced' in and then all floors were stained using DuraSeal penetrating finish in English Chesnut. Good luck with your project!

Paint the pine part black, leave the rest white. We just did ours, looks great.

Here is a photo I found that pretty much matches up with your wood floors and current staircase idea. I had the same issue but ended up staining the entire staircase because I had tile floors installed and felt it looked better. I have been thinking about painting the kick boards white long with spindles to change the look and lighten things up in my entry. My stairs are right in your face as soon as you step in, which after living here for 20 years I still don't care for, but my husband won't let me knock out the adjacent wall so I can add a short landing and turn the stairway inward away from the door. I'm still working on changing his mind! Lol.

Would it be ok to paint the spindles white even if the home still has unpainted oak base boards?
