We live in a 692 square foot house on 2.5 acres in Big Island, Hawaii. This "earth friendly" home is solar powered and uses a rain water collection system that drains into a 12K gallon tank. Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright with hints of North Africa and Asia, the home was built and creatively designed to maximize high end living within a small space. The interior's 10 foot ceilings features built-in book shelves, hidden work spaces, a dry bar and custom built kitchen cabinets. We have a small dining room table for 4 that can be expanded to accommodate 10. A semi screened-in lanai with unobstructed view of the landscaped property serves as the main entertainment area. Salvaged teak wood originally purchased as a room divider from Indonesia functions as a closet and bathroom door. Pictures are attached.
