Really bad looking bulbs. Did you receive them like that? If you did, I would contact the vendor and demand a refund, including postage. Not sure what the disease is and if it is curable. Looks like a fungal disease. Also, looks like there could be bulb mites as well. If they are not valuable, I would throw them in the trash(not in the compost pile).

If they are part of your collection and are valuable and you want to try and save them:

I would peel off as much damaged area as possible.

You can give them a sanitation treatment either soak in 10 per cent bleach solution( 1 part fresh household bleach and 9 parts water) for a couple of hours OR a hot water soak, 110 degrees F. for 2 hours ( This is hard to do unless you have equipment that is very accurate and can maintain that temperature).

There is no good control for bulb mites. I used Kelthane bulb soaks when it was available. A couple of years ago, I had a problem with bulb mites that came in on some commercial bulbs I received. I purchased EntomiteA, a predator mite. one time. It seemed to work. The next year I wanted to release some more and found it was not available in the U.S. anymore, I believe it is still available in Europe.

If you have access to a good broad spectrum, systemic fungicide, a treatment with that would also be a good followup.

Thank you Mark for the suggestion. I bought them from Thailand. And I got cheated by the Thai seller.And they were expensive ones too. I am so confused.

Is that the condition you received the bulb? If you did, I would trim the dead roots and as Mark said, peel the dead outer parts of the bulb and treat with fungicide. In the past when I received bulbs like this, not only do I trim the dead roots but also trim the basal plate to expose as much new/undamaged tissue as possible without damaging the bulb. After an application of rooting hormone with fungicide, let it dry for a few days then plant it is a very free draining mix but keep it on the drier side until you get some leaf growth. Are these new bulbs or ones you have cared for a long time? If they are new contact the vendor. If you have had them a long time you could try less water.
