Need help choosing backsplash

Our Craftsman style home will have a Bolero red island with shell white cabinets elsewhere. We like a granite slab called "Chocolate Bordeaux". We are considering plain white tiles, white painted wainscoting OR going bold with red tile for the back splash. comments/suggestions welcome.

I'm more worried about the S.W Bolero red with the Chocolate Bordeaux.......!!?? I'd be looking at soapstone, frankly. Granite , unless honed, never feels right to me in craftsman....too glitz. And the picture below is darn horrendous.

Wow that is quite a statement I think without seeing you granite slab with the island color it is impossible to suggest a backsplash I just can’t see these together that red is really garish IMO without knowing why it was chosen I think I would change granite to something as mentioned like soap stone and let that island color stand alone To me reds in a Craftsman should have a little more brown in them
