If it were me I'd find a carpet that I liked and change that. Cancork Floor is correct - even if you match the species, plank, width, and finish, the new wood won't match the old because of the way the elements affect wood color (esp. sunlight). So if you're going to do it be prepared to refinish the whole thing.

The upside to that approach is that you have a whole world of color options open to you if you wanted to change the look. Also, judging from the dings visible in the glare of the first photo it seems like the wood might need a refinish anyhow.

How much wood flooring do you currently have? If not too much, it might be better to do the whole thing.

It seems that you have Red Oak floors. Your first option is: to replace the carpet with unfinished Red Oak (Select Grade) to match your existing floors and then stain and finish to match the existing. We personally do this often and have many years of experience so we know that very few professionals are actually good at matching colors, so you need to be cautious with who you trust for the job.

Pros: You save money not having to refinish the whole floor.

Cons: There is a big chance that the sheen (shine) won't match 100%.

If a little difference in the sheen bothers you a lot, you have a second option which is, refinishing the existing and staining and finishing everything again.
