One of ours loved the running bathtub water too. I told my dh I wasn't paying the water bill for him (the cat:)) to have running water ! so we got a "fountain". Its stainless steel and we purchased from Amazon. The downstairs cats really like it. The upstairs cats seemed to be afraid of it and one of them also "pats" the water bowl. Our solution was to set the water bowl in the bathtub.

So, it may or may not stop Kit from patting. Worth a try though.

I just wanted to comment on your cats name, I named my cat Kit Kat LOL and my other cat loves to play in water, she even drops her toys in the water bowl,in all my years of owning cats I have never had one that loves water like my Joey, she's a hoot.. Good luck I hope you find a solution for Kit's splashing...

YES! Best $50 ever spent. My orange cat loves it - he needed to increase his water intake and I had noticed that he preferred dripping water out of a faucet. It also has the benefit of "reminding" me that it needs to be cleaned and fresh water added - makes a horrible sound when its running dry!

The fountains are awesome. We got ours from Amazon for 39.00 and they liked it so much we bought another for our dog. Think fresh, clean and enticing. It does improve their water intake and yes, the cats enjoy tring to catch the stream, but there seems to be less mess.

Thanks, guys. We decided to go with the bubbler dish. The cats get running water from the bathroom faucet every morning as Scooter meows at me non-stop until I get up and start the water. I don't know if the dog would like the fountain but think she will tolerate a bubbler.
