But instead, I'm talking Sans! I knew of Sans for a long time and thought all of them were tall. This is a bit embarrassing to admit, but when I bought my first one maybe a year and a half ago, I thought it was young and was going to grow tall! My first was 2 sections or whatever they are called and one more was just breaking through the soil. That one grew to be the size of the others and then one by one they started to rot. Of course I was watering them to death. I started reading this forum and someone had just posted about rooting in water. I had the third one in soil trying to save it, but took it out and put it in a small amount of water. It started growing roots within a week. This is what it looks like now. I know it's a hahnii but don't know which one.

I think this is the same plant that I bought for someone else but decided to keep it.

I'm assuming this one is a S. trifasciata laurentii?

The other two that I have are S. silver marginated and S. Suffruticosa.

I've learned a tremendous amount from this forum and I enjoy my Sans and yours, but I have to keep reminding myself that I have no more space!

Hello Meg,

Your first pic is a plain Hahnii, almost all Hahnii "fancy" cultivars will revert to this form if propagated by leaf cutting. Your last one is S. trif. Laurentii, it's very robust and it will revert to S. Trifasciata (without the yellow margins) if propagated by leaf cutting.

They look in good shape, so you must have mastered the art of not-overwatering Sans. !

Meg, so nice to see someone else put their phalaenopsis orchids in clay pots too. Nice picture. What would we do without sans and phals and . . . . . . . . . .

Pat, those 2 phals are in clay pots but unfortunately, I've never gotten either to bloom. My others have bloomed, however. I water all at the same time but I'm thinking maybe I need to water those two a little more often since clay dries out faster than plastic or ceramic.

Meg, if steams cut to base, phals need a year to rest before blooming again. Be patient. And keep posting your sans pics.
