What era/place is this lamp from?

While vacationing at a home in North Carolina, I fell in love with this lamp and have been on a hunt for something like it ever since.

Then, this past weekend at Congress Hall in Cape May, NJ, I found another somewhat similar (of course not for sale).

I particularly like the iron rod body and, for lack of a better term, the banana peel-like accent.

Can someone tell me what era these lamps are from or if they have a specific name/characteristic that would help me to search the internet for replicas?

1999 British Colonial fad. Monkeys on everything and rattan everywhere.

HI -- I think the lamps style is to represent the pineapple , which is a symbol of "welcome " Same pineapple that you can get or see on entrance door pediments . It is an old style and can still be found in lamp stores today and possibly still in Bombay Co. or anywhere that sells British Colonial furniture and decor . I think these style lamps are still very popular in Florida and parts south .

HI -- Guess what ... I just looked for " pineapple lamps" on Houzz shops under lighting and also googled and found lots of similar styles and much nicer too.

Never had a lamp, but I did upholster my bar stool seats with the tropical monkey motif.

Found this one at Goodwill for $10 and cleaned it up and added a new shade. Just a note, it is tricky to get your hand past the metal fronds to turn the lamp on!
