We would definetly do some nice shrubbery and flowers out front, much like this home, as well as some cute small trees that won't grow very big and compromise the view. As far as the view in the windows goes, we recommend doing a composite shutter and/or some drapery. Below are some examples of the look you can accomplish with an interior shutter.

No problem! As far as the exterior shutters and the front door, a gorgeous country like theme would be either a navy blue or black colonial classic shutter and a bright red front door.

We've done something a touch more modern-leaning with a Gambrel-roofed home -

I am not a lover of shutters but in this case I would remove them from the ranch side and put shutters on the other side I would paint all that huge white blob a nice soft gray/ green to work with the brick and then paint all the window trim and shutters black and no to any kind of interior shutters , the garage door the same green .The landscaping will make a huge difference too maybe even add a phoney window in the peak of the addition
