I think you're WAY south of me, but if you ever feel like taking a drive up to Thornton (at 128th & Colorado Blvd.) I can give you a couple "starter" pothos plants that I started to root in water and just put into pots a couple days ago! It'll take them about a year to develop into "big plants," but in a couple months they should be starting to look halfway decent. Pothos are similar to ivy--they're vining and need to be either hung or put on a plant stand! (And they're not as susceptible to mites as ivy is!) I put about 8 "individual plants" in each pot, so when they get going they'll look pretty nice! They're in small, ugly (reused) pots now, and will need to be potted up into a 6" pot in a few months!

Could give you a (now in 3" square pot) jade that was just put in soil--will take a couple months at least to even start to root! Right now it's just (very short) little stems stuck in the soil! In a year it should be a nice looking "small" jade!

Also stuck some babies of an ornamental aloe in (3"square) pots a couple days ago, and could include one of those too! Again, will take a couple months to root and start to grow at all!

So--none of these are really gonna get you a Green Fix "right now," but it's a start and would give you something to Hover Over for the rest of winter--if you want to drive this far to get them--on an afternoon or evening--not before noon! But other than that, almost any day would work for me!

That's awesome Skybird! Thornton's not too far. It looks like Pothos will climb which is the reason I mentioned ivy. I'll try to post a picture of what I was thinking of. And I haven't had aloe or jade since I left the farm. The extent of my indoor green is a spider plant. Very exciting! I'll check my curling schedule and send you a message.

Yes, they could be made to "go up" like that, but you'd need to tie them as they grow since they don't have any sort of "tendrils" to hang on with! Just thought of one other point! To look good they really should be somewhere near a window--or other source of fairly good lite! If they don't get enough light the leaves will grow way far apart on the stems and they'll always look "sparse!" So do consider that when you decide where to put it/them. The "instruction sheet" tells about that!

Before you get TOO excited, remember these are just Baby Plants! All that's there right now is the one leaf from the cutting I rooted, and most of them have a "second leaf" just barely starting to form.

And, just to be sure you understand--the Aloe isn't Aloe vera, the one you can use for burns. This one is Aloe aristata, strictly ornamental! I put 4-5 "plantlets" in each pot, but these were totally unrooted, so they're gonna take a "while!" By next year you'll have lots of plantlets yourself to be giving them away to other people!!!

And the jades are totally unrooted cuttings too! And they root pretty slowly! Like I said above, something to Hover Over, but definitely not gonna give you a Green Fix right now! But by next winter you'll be able to "feel" the oxygen they're putting off into the air to help improve your Breathing Experience! ;-)
