Mark, I'm so sorry, not sure how i missed your question from a while ago. The soffit is a tongue and groove pine, painted. We picked up the brown accent stripe with an aluminum soffit vent extrusion, so it was a nice free upgrade in detail just by clever placement.

Thank you. I very much want to replace my soffit on my home with something like this as I don't like the look of metal, and I have wood already.
