The shade is Etched Opal.

Can this light be used in a kitchen. I have a florescent shop light right now but want to take it down. Just wanted to know how much light it puts out.

This uses 2, A-19 medium base 60 Watt bulbs. It would definitely be enough for a bedroom - if the kitchen space is not too large it would work there also.

Can I use LED bulbs ! What exactly does a A-19 med base look like ? is it a chandelier base ? Or typical lamp bulb type ? I have 10ft ceilings and thinking of using 2 in the hallway adjacent to the foyer ..

The A-19 bulb base is what you would see on a standard regular incandescent light bulb -- the ones we have used for years... You can replace those with LED bulbs that use the same base. You can't use more than 60W bulbs though - so you can sort of judge the light output with 2 - 60 Watt bulbs.
