Did you sign a contract of any sorts that will show breach I contract? It is very disappointing when your vision does not come out as imagined, especially at no fault of your own!

So here's my opinion........ the tile installer is so wrong! Most people would want the herringbone pattern set vertically. However....... it's not a bad look. Your photo doesn't show how tall your tile surface is...... but it's always ok to be different. I've learned enough in my years to know that a lot of "mistakes" end up being fine. You'll notice it for awhile...... but I believe most people wouldn't question it. You might look like a "trendsetter".
See how you feel about it in a few months. It might grow on you. :)

It is beautiful but I know from experience in remodels to have it done like you instructed. It is okay but simply depends on how much it bothers you. You paid for it, get what you want.

The customer is always right. Although the final product looks great, it's a major fail for the company to not have followed your instruction.

I really like it but, it's yours! They installed it wrong, they should fix at their cost. It's that simple, or should be.

If you used the words "going upward", I can see where a misinterpretation could occur. I assume you did not draw a picture of what it should look like.

I did leave a picture! They had their own plan. I gave two options to the contractor to remedy the situation. We shall see!

I'm sorry they did not install it as instructed. On the other hand, I love it. It gives a very uplifting feel, and is atypical. I'm going to tuck away your tile "mistake" for future use. You should get the tile installed as you wanted though.

We agree with most people on here, it does look beautiful. But it is not what you wanted, and you should get it reinstalled the way you wanted originally, at their cost. We have all of our customers sign off on the tile plan that stays on site during the duration of the job to prevent mistakes like this. We hope that your contractor does right by you!
