None that has been written about here. The main thrust is treating flowering stems with Keiki paste to produce babies instead of blooms.

Some of my hybrids in my collection have grown keikis from the base. Maybe some are more likely to do this depending on the ancestry.

Sorry, I have not fiddled with trying to get Keikis so I do not know the answer to your questions.

If you get a basal keiki you can leave it attached to the mother plant for ages. They are just a bonus, as I said above I have never tried to get plants to make keikis. I have too many orchids.
