Never heard of it. What did the tomato look like? Color? Shape? Size?

Can you ask your friend? But, assuming the name begins with 'A', check this tomato varieties list to see if one of them sounds/looks like it might be it.

Thanks everyone, I called my friend but the person he got them from isn't home right now, It was a red tomato about 12-14 oz. that is some good sites you recommended.

There are thousands of tomato variety, its not easy to guess if you don't know for certain it's origin. Better ask the person himself and how/where he got the seeds. It may not be any 'verified' cultivar and just be a cross that someone developed but haven't introduced it to the public/gained popularity.

No it's not a cross that someone developed, I got to talk to him and he said it was air loom but I still can't find anything on that, maybe I misunderstood him on the phone and he said heirloom, I found a lot on that but their is so many varieties of them and not just one heirloom seed.

I'm sure he meant heirloom. That means a variety that was handed down from generation to generation, or a variety that is well-loved which will grow true from saved seed. You could try asking him if the heirloom has a variety name.....

Tons of others with "heirloom" in the name of the variety, such as [Name]'s Heirloom, [Place Name or Nationality] Heirloom, etc.

Most likely, the friend meant that it's AN heirloom variety.

I did a search and I got "More Tomatoes Thrown in The Air" lol

Thanks everyone, I'm going to stick with my all time favorite Brandywine which is a heirloom, I also plant some Big boys and Beefsteaks.
