More pictures? Rectangular. Move the little table in the corner. Too short and will throw the room off balance.

Also, turn the rug so the length goes with the length of the sofa. Large to large.

I'd suggest option A - placing the table where the tree is...it's safer and neater. I'd also suggest a round table.

Your space is not large enough for a living room and dining area, especially with your front entrance. I would suggest you use this space as your eating/ dining area with a big table and seating for 6. Place table in center of room and you may have room near the windows for a couple of upholstered chairs and side table. You're going to have to play with table position if you choose to add the upholstered chairs. I would use the other space you have for your family/ tv room. Good luck wth your project.

I agree the room is not large enough, but I would nix the dining table and instead extend the counter and get more stools for everyday eating. Then I'd put a couple of chairs opposite the white couch on the edge of the rug.

I'd also get rid of the ceiling fan. It doesn't go with your contemporary style.

Thanks for the pictures. The larger island top or banquette look like feasible ideas. How many seat for eating do you need?

I agree with the clashing reds in your scheme. I would try to replace it with a sectional. Just get a small eases style table and put it under that high window. Get a banquette for the wall. And use some moveable stools for the other side. Good luck.

Re furniture comments I just moved in and most of the furniture is eventually going (hand me downs) I only plan on keeping the rug and orange stool.
The fan is also definitely going I can't stand it.
