Windows facing a sunroom

We purchased a house that had the patio enclosed. There is no heat or ac. It's fine. We live in the South. And we really like the room. Here's my problem. There is a door and two windows from the kitchen/den area facing into the sunroom. We replaced the solid wood door with a french door. But we don't know what to do about the windows. We can't just remove them because of the heating/ac. And the room probably has no insulation. I could put up some curtains or blinds, but it doesn't change the fact that they are facing an interior space. I don't like that look. We could close off the windows, but then we lose a lot of light in the kitchen. The windows are just the cheap aluminum ones. Any suggestions?

I have the same question, and same situation of a house with a porch that was enclosed. Leading to this porch was an exterior door, now the door to the porch from within the house, and a window that matches a window on the other side of the house.

Our solution was to remove both the door and window entirely. Occasionally the porch is used as a guest bedroom, so maybe curtains on the porch side would be good.

Would removing the windows and just having holes where the windows were work for you?

The only good solution is to replace all the windows with doors, or one sliding door , or a combination of fixed panels and doors. "Cheap aluminum windows" would be the first reason. You leave the interior windows uncovered, and if treatment is needed for privacy, treat the sunroom and not the interior space......or use something that looks great from BOTH sides, like a Silhouette shade or roller screen shade, which when up......totally disappears.

Can you post a couple of photos?

With out photos, my suggestions would include: remove the windows and patch/finish both sides, depending on the space you could demo the wall and put in double French or a sliding door, or you can window treat both sides separately but keep them closed... or a single treatment that looks good on both sides.

On one of those home showed ages ago, someone modified a window to be a "bar/serving area", newer sliding window that connected into the main house, but a wider ledge was created at the bottom, because the space connected to an area for entertaining guests. Not sure about the space exactly but you may have a few options depending on budget and what the structure/space is.
