here is the photo of the stippling, you can see all my flaws. It looks like the stitching does not show up for you. I used a beige thread.

Some machines come with something called a stitch regulator but I haven't tried it.

If your machine has a way to set the maximum speed, use it. You still need to match your movement to the stitching speed but you can limit the max speed.

Love the colors and style of your runner! I have a balanced stitch regulator (bar) for my machine and it still takes practice to have consistent size stitches. Don't worry we won't tell the quilt police!

I looked in my Pfaff sewing machine book and the next model of machine has the stitch regulator or power regulator. I don't remember which now.

Colors are hard for me to put together. I went through my stash looking for complimenting colors and chose a light and a dark.

I need to figure out the next new table runner pattern and do another one. I am excited to learn how to improve the stippling.

I do have a question, I had the thread break on me and had to re-thread my needle. What is the correct way to start again where the thread broke. I put the needle down about 3 stitches back from where it broke.

It looks beautiful. I find after a while I don't even notice or remember my less than perfect stitches...and no one else does either.

That's what I do - stitch over existing stitches. Maybe a few stitches in one spot,

Though I've never used it, my machine has a start/stop button. So, I could set the speed control and then turn it on avoiding the foot pedal all together. I think that would maybe help with FMQ... I'll have to try it one day. Maybe your machine has that button?

If you have a speed control, maybe find your best speed for stippling, and then all you have to do is pedal to the metal...max out your foot and then don't think about what it's doing while you move your hands.

I suppose with more practice I will get better.

I am hoping this will help. So much to remember when first starting out doing something new.
