Kitchen Backsplash problem

the counter extends past the cabinets in my new kitchen. I have to install the backsplash now and not really sure what to do. It will look silly if you extend the length of the counter, but i also feel it will look silly if you stop it underneath the cabinets and dont extend out. I was thinking of maybe taking the backsplash to the length of the entire wall above the over hang and up the cabinet wall as an accent/decoration? i am using standard white subway tiles.

somone please help! let me know your opinion or thoughts

There is no sink or stove in that area, so I would not put one. Ending it anywhere on that wall is only going to look awkward.

Ok the back walll angled? Seems there is no depth to the upper and lower cabinets on the rights side but the countertop looks normal depth. Maybe I need more coffee but this looks odd. I agree with the above though. No backsplash.

Redo the counter top, which appears as someone angled for a trash can or something? Do nothing with the splash. The photo is very odd, is part of the cabinetry RECESSED into the wall? Or is it some weird optical illusion and a lack of coffee?
