Paint Sheen

New construction. Having contractors wuote using Sherwin Williams paint. However indecisive about sheen as home is in the mountains with outdoor lifestyle and rambunctious golden retrievers but no kids.

Have been told Duration and Emerald have proprietary formulas in flat finish with wipeability. Is this true or should we move up to a matte finish? How about bedrooms - I like a slightly velvety finish but is it practical?

I guess utility rooms and baths are no brainers for semigloss?

Most designers and painters like Matte or Flat, but it's not very washable and Semigloss for bathrooms is overkill IMO.

I personally like Eggshell in living areas, Satin in Bathrooms, and Semi-gloss on trim.

The problem with Duration and Emerald is that there is no eggshell...it goes from matte to satin. This is why I stick with Cashmere.
