Cheap curb appeal updates

I'm looking for some quick ways to dress up this house. I would love to add a new roof some day, and maybe a nice porch. The concrete stoop has been painted gray since this photo was taken, and I was thinking about replacing the white posts with cedar.
Any recommendations?

9 years agoLushly planted window boxes and new foundation landscaping to replace the spindly shrubs. The shrubs may thrive if transplanted to a new location.

PRO9 years agolast modified: 9 years agoI’d remove the shutters..they do not fit and paint the door a dark gray…like B.M. Dior Gray.
Remove the plantings and do something more cottage like, which will stay green year ‘round. My favorite is Cherry Laurel. You can trim them into a hedge. It flowers in the Spring and has berries in the Winter.
