I will look for a picture of the project I did for someone a while back and I used a hinge kit something like this one Pivot Door Slides instead of bifold doors. They work as a regular door only after the doors open they slide inside the cabinet, this way there no obstructions in the room. Hard to tell from a picture, but it looks like your existing doors can be modified to make them work with a pivot hinge sliding kit.
