Best soil for high germination rates

last modified: 9 years ago

So I have a last seed packet of geraniums, they are just 5 seeds that were given to m eby a friend and I really, really care for these as they had some unique colors, hence why I am planting them last.

So far out of 30 pelargonium seeds planted, only like 20 -30 percent sprouted. I hear pelargoniums are not the easiest seeds to grow, but I so badly want these to sprout they are just 5!

I have my heating mat ready for them, just need to know if there is any particular soil you guys recommend that has a high success rate. From reading here, Promix seems to be one that pops up regularly as one of the best. Should I buy a bag? Otherwise it's going to be the same old vermiculite, peat moss and perlite mix.
