Sadly no experience here. The Tea ladies give it a good review although their climate is different. I like the photos.

I believe one distinctive feature is that she's quite prone to green centres and proliferation. You may be able to read the segment on her in the Tea Ladies' book, online, on Amazon. It's Tea Roses:Old Roses for Warm Gardens. Last time I looked they had that facility, but of course not all pages will be included.

Thanks for the tip, comtessedelacouche. Yes, they mention the green centres too. That, in of itself doesn't worry me too much unless we are talking the so called Bloomfield Dainty levels of proliferation - I have a picture taken of that rose this summer where there is a whole other bloom on the end of a peduncle coming out of the centre of a bloom. Like one of those weird funhouse mirrors!

I think I might take a punt on it, feedback or no feedback. I like trying the semi mysterious roses - although this one should hopefully do OK considering it was born and bred here.

Oh, I would love to have seen that - I've only seen paintings (I think there's a Redoute one) of that sort of extreme proliferation. I seem to remember it being called a 'Turks head' rose or some such name - I suppose it was thought to look a bit like a turban.

I do have a bit of a soft spot for weird proliferated roses, as my little icon shows...

Captain Thomas described the color of this rose as eau-de-nil white, which makes me want to try it. Does anybody have updated experience?

I just ordered it from Rose Petals, along with William Allen Richardson, which I was surprised to see they had in stock. I requested shipping in September, so I have a month to figure out where I will put them both.
