I don't have the answer to your question, but wanted to say hello. I just moved to Fort Rucker (well, Daleville) from Fort Benning and am starting to look at plants that do well down here in this crazy heat and humidity. There are some garden centers on 231 in Dothan--I will try to remember to get the names for you. There is a Lowes and a few little places in Enterprise, but a lot more options toward Dothan.

Desert roses do well I hear!

If, by desert rose, you are referring to Adenium obesum, they are not hardy in AL.

Dothan Nurseries is the only place I know in the area, aside from BBS's, and a small owner-operated greenhouse on Rt. 27 a couple miles south of Boll Weevil Circle in Enterprise. Sue's I think. Not always open.

I would love to hear about more places to look for plants too, including FL panhandle. I thought there would be plants galore when I moved here from OH but I haven't found many places to shop at all.
