Well i haven'n seen a lot Adenium in full bloom but they def. look artificial to me. :-/

I think that the the flowers on the big adeniums are fake. There are virtually no flower buds, only fully opened flowers. And look at 3:39 in the video. If you look closely at the yellow-flowering adenium, you will see a "pin" with a flower bud sticking out from the tree. This does not look as a real (mature) branch with a bud.

What irritates me more is that these lying sacks of excrement think they have to fake it at all. Adeniums do bloom this way sometimes---they get so overwhelmed by inflorescence that they drop all their leaves and there is nothing but flowers and buds.

Yes, adeniums can bloom this crazy which can be seen at adenium contests in Asia. And I bet one of obesum hybrids could do it - if it just had more branches. ;-)

how funny, well here is My QVC purchase. Actually it was a gift. Not many places around here to purchase them. My mom has bought a cple from them. It's gonna be 3 years old with me. They start advertising them in the early spring and ship in May. Now that I have found this forum, no need to purchase from them. I have since learned about seeds and some of the nice people on here and from tthe people overseas that I can get them from!

It doesn't look grafted to me, so don't expect any "Pink Arabian" flowers identical to the ones on the label.

My mom has bought 3 from QVC, mine included, and they have been fine, I've bought 3 or 4 from logees (those were spendy) all pretty small. From QVC and logees. My 4 month old seedings have more going on then theirs, they claimed to be 2 years old? So who knows, but that too is all I knew before here.

Wow, who knew QVC would have brought so many people here! Eeyore, have yours bloomed yet? Please post pics. I'd love to see what types of blooms they are. Did they come with a tag with a pic of the bloom?

It's tried, 2 years in a row, but drops the buds. as well as a cple others. I posted the picture of it on this thread and the little stick showing what it's suppose to look like.

Are you fertilizing in Spring/Summer? I find that if I forget to do a weekly weakly some of the blooms don't make it. Also, if notice too much fert quickly burns the flower so it's super weak fert when in full bloom. A lot of people here recommended Dyna grow and I've had the best blooms with it. It's hard to find but I did eventually find it at a hydroponics store. I think their website lists who carries it by zip code. It's a liquid.

I hadn't fertilized anything. I came to this forum seeking help for that one in particular, it was dropping (and yellowing)all its leaves. It did that same thing the year before. I have since then bought fertilizer and changed out the soil in most. So this spring summer I'm hoping things will be different. It did grow lots of branches this past summer and I do like the way it has branched out.☺

I use them together when I fertilize. I try not to skip the Pro TeKt. But it does happen Every once in a while, but try to always add it In With the FP. I add ( the Pro TeKt) seperately In The watering jug and add water to the top. before I add the FP. It will bind together if you add the two at the same time. Read the instructions on the Pro teKt. . It will help you...

In The early spring, I dilute the FP ( and Pro TeKt) to 1/4 tsp per gallon and also for the trees that I feed under lights. Then when spring comes along I go To 1 tsp per gallon. Then when summer is here, I go 2 tsp per gallon and this is every Ten days I make sure the rain will flush or I will water in between. I dont worry about feeding and or over feeding using this mix.. I really love it. My trees love it too!! I slow down In The fall, but continue to give the trees the nutrients they need to be healthy. Some stop feeding in the winter, but where will they get their needs from if the are inside containers? I reduce the amount and give them a watering every ten days or so with the FP..

I never see a build up of any kind when I water with these two great products

There are no silly questions.

Blooming adeniums drop their leaves on their own, to conserve energy. Note, though that inflorescence often comes in waves of varying intensity. Sometimes, you only get a few flowers and the plant keeps its leaves. Sometimes, you get a wave so intense the plant just drops nearly everything except its flowers--this can last for months and is more common in mature plants (5 years and over) that have not been disturbed in their pots. If you are lucky or you have perfect weather (hot, sunny, winter-free and only occasionally rainy), you'll see it happen all year round.
