I do not like overhead lighting in a living room....very harsh. Therefore, I say NO.

No chandelier. Stick with the light you have or get a different spotlight.

Poor location for chandelier. Would have to be tiny to not bump right into a wall. Consider relocating the box to the center of room for a chandelier for interest and possibly adding can lights if you feel like you need additional lighting.

I think that in every room should be a chandelier, or ceiling chandelier, it give more personality and it complete a room. We have many small version, i attached some pictures. Anyway i suggest you to pay attention to de finishing of the chandelier and the material, especially because you are close to the fire place, that usually produce a lot of dust, so avoid to put something in glass or crystal, cause it would be cleaned every week minimum, if not it will appear dirty. I recomended something in withe bright, because we saw that dust is almost impossible to see on that colours, and also if you don't use special product for clean it, is enough a normal swiffer for clean our white bright chandelier. It would be good make a circular metal ceiling based for the roof and from that hang up 3 chandelier like in the photo with different high.

Hi, I think a chandelier would be nice to soften the space and dress it up a bit. I would recommend using a piece that gives a soft light - lower watt bulbs. Good luck with your project!
