Thank you ColourWise! So you think I should run a rod from end to end and hang panels at each end? If I had these wide enough to cover the entire wall, wouldn't the stack block most of the long windows? Since there isn't much wall space on either side?

I like Colourwise's idea. What you might have to do if you are using store-bought panels is have the panels on the outsides tailored in half width-wise to avoid covering up the door and windows too much. I don't think you could do sheers and solids on the same track because once they're stacked on the outsides, it would be too much fabric.

i was thinking more like in a hotel room where its a wall of sheers with a blackout liner (you can get the fixtures that hang from the ceiling that have two tracks for two different fabrics - but have just noticed you have a fancy ceiling so you need a wall-mounted solution)... then you would open them during the day to show the big window and patio door only, and just keep all the fabric covering the middle piece of wall...or the alternative is to have lots of panels then there is more flexibility over where you bunch them up when open (like in the photos the others have posted).

i like the two different tracks so that during the day you can keep the sheers closed, but the light will still come through, just softens it up nicely rather than being fully open or fully closed only...but you could just do one fabric on one track if that is your preference..

You'll want to find floor-to-ceiling curtains. We agree with Jennifer, to include panels that can sit in the middle too!

Since I can come up with nothing that would not cost a small fortune. Maybe a sleeping blindfold. :-)
