Need help of Dremel tools

I am trying to make this plastic piece on my car a little thinner (1 cm) so I can fit something into it. I am planning to use the Dremel tool and I was wondering what bit should I use. Sanding or cutting? Hoping to see if anyone here has similar project/experience. Many Thanks!
