I'll have a better photo of Kitty Hawk this coming year. This was a baby bush last spring.

I only have one "K" and it's Koko Loco which was a new rose for me in 2016. It wasn't happy in a pot waiting to be planted so I'll hopefully I'll see a lot more blooms now that it's in the ground. Here are a few shots showing its color variability.

This photo was taken in May and I think shows KL at her best in form and color.

KL looking a bit more orange and pinkish.

KL looking very lavender on her second to last day. This particular rose lasted for over a week!

Ohhhh.... Koko Loco is on my list for the future. Seeing all of this color variability is really helpful. Thank you everyone!

Beth... KOLKHOSNITZA and KUROSHINJU are fascinating!!!! Such unique forms!

I love Koko Loco! Unfortunately it doesn't seem to love being with me quite so much. The winter here is a little rough for it I think. Almost shovel pruned the poor thing last season but then I caught sight of one lonely little bud and it melted my resolve. That colour just breaks my heart - I can see myself giving it WAY more chances than it probably deserves.

Incidentally, it only reached about 18" high and this was its best "flush" of the season. Sigh. 3rd year plant, grafted.

If you ever choose to get rid of it, I will take it and can maybe even trade something for it. :)

Redwolf... I actually KNOW I could trade something for it. Do you know what it is grafted on? If you want to trade lemme know. All mine are listed on HMF under "Cori Ann - Norcal hot and dry 9b"

    There are a few I won't part with. ;)

Cori Ann, you're hilarious! You've made me smile and for that I thank you - I'm having kind of a rough week at work and all smiles are welcome! I'll have a look at your list on HMF for sure... but just so you know, I'm in Canada, which makes it somewhat more complicated, though not impossible, to trade. I've actually sent a rose to a garden friend in Cali before (Blue Girl climber - another that isn't really hardy here). In any case, my KL is from Palatine, bought in 2014. It's grafted on Multiflora. That's not the best root stock for your environment, is it?

Beautiful Steve! I just ordered her and can't wait to see her bloom!!

    Gorgeous Steve!

Hi Redwolf. Multiflora may actually be ok... I will find out soon because I have 3 Nahemas on multiflora. My soil is acidic and we have little chill... but it's mostly hot. I guess I will see! The Canada/USA might make shipping and trading harder. Ah well... at least it made you smile on a hard day! :)
