I think your house oozes possibilities! Like everything, what you do depends on styles YOU like, and budget. But there are many smaller steps that I can imagine that could be done in phases.

If you like the vision of a cozy, antique "cottage" you could:
1. Replace the columns with beefier, square columns, perhaps with rectangular insets running the length (the existing columns look too "lightweight" and "big box store."
2. Consider running porch balustrades with top and bottom railings between the columns, maybe in a farmhouse / gingerbread style - this would create a cozy porch space (while leaving access openings)
3. Hang some flowering plants along the porch edge - one pot in each section between your columns. Consider adding flowers with scent. Think about using cocoa mat lined metal hanger pots on metal chains - you can slip a plastic pot inside them and the plastic is hidden.
4. Replace your storm door with a "cottage" screen / storm. Take a look at woodenscreendoor.com. Consider their Nobleboro, Essex, Christmas Cove or Friendship doors for a cottage look. The Wooden Screen Door Company, is based in Maine and very high quality. I'm not in any way associated with them, but friends have bought their product and the doors last a lifetime. I'll be ordering one for my 1880's porch).
5. Replace your door with a repurposed antique door, maybe a door with a square stained glass or beveled glass window in the top half (which you'll want to align with whatever storm door you pick so they harmonize)
6. Replace the floodlight next to your front door with a more welcoming entry light ..... cottage look
7. Re: paint. I can't tell what your siding is, but if you decide to stay with the yellow, you could paint all the trim out white, then add the white columns, gingerbread balustrade and gingerbread stormdoor to brighten and cozy it up. Paint your door a welcoming color. Then, consider painting your porch ceiling "haint blue" - a very traditional porch ceiling paint color, a very light blue with a hint of green undertone. Houzz has lots of porch pictures showing this.
8. Maybe switch out your house numbers - one possibility could be some antique looking hand painted tiles ..... kind of a William Morris style look.
9. Paint your front fence white - columns and pickets, and maybe considering plunking some cobalt blue pottery planters with beautiful flowers on top of each column. In planting the pots, use the "thriller/filler/spiller" approach, with something taller, something that lushly fills in, and something trailing to spill down.
10. Add some wicker chairs, maybe a settee and some tables. Use some cushions on the chairs in fabric that makes you feel happy..... then sit down and enjoy! (So, one possibility would be to paint your front door a rich cobalt blue, then use fabrics for your cushions that carry that color. (Mixed with other colors). The repetition of the blue from your front fence to your front porch and front door will create welcoming serenity.) You might paint the wicker chairs and furniture a gloss black, it will ground everything.
11. It was difficult to tell how deep your porch is on the section towards your driveway, but if you have the depth to accommodate a long flower box under your wide window, that would look great.

Most of all, have fun with your house! It's just a jewel waiting to be polished up! Hope you have many happy years there!
