Pretty space. What are your priorities for using the space? Kid homework, family dinner, upholstered chairs for two adults?

Can you post a picture from the entry door area? Is there a chandelier over the table? Looks like you have room for a couple of comfy chairs and a lamp to read by.

We're not seeing enough of the space to help you out very much. The TV above FP is a bad choice, but I assume you want it where you can see from the kitchen. Can the table and chairs move further toward the area where the kids are playing? Looks like the baseboard heat precludes lots of wall-based solutions. I would try a pair of small armchairs angled on the painting wall with a round table and a lamp between them. You want to keep the traffic area from the foyer open so the wall perpendicular to the entry door is really only available for art. Move the picture there. Take more pix and post right here and we'll move forward.

Hey all you made my day helping me ! Here is the other side off the room....the old owners put in a sunroom this what I did with because a table wouldn't work too narrow and far from kitchen

The tv ended up over the fireplace because we had the couch and chair in the room and thought making it mini living room but didn't work out ....but the tv works out in get together everyone is always in this empty room and kitchen

Switch the buffet and bar cart. Place buffet under the art and buy a bit bigger lamp for the corner side that compliments the more farmhouse style in the room. A rug will help ground the room. I would rather place the table centered with the fireplace than look at it off centered. Dressing the mantel with some farmhouse accessories-even just a couple of huricanes and removing the pictures will bring it all together as well. Lucky you-great spaces and a very cute daughter!

For the blank wall as you are coming in the room that doesn't have any furniture, chalk paint some different frames using the colors in your chairs, white, black etc and make a gallery wall for your family pictures and some other vintage art sprinkled in (you can frame a piece of old fabric and then use it again to cover the mat of another piece). Start with and old platter or a couple of plates and build off from there. Get the bottom of the gallery to have several pieces the same height as your buffet and none lower.

Hang that big cool round cutting/cheese board behind the bar stool on the wall to left of fireplace-or on gallery wall

Center the table and put the buffet under that piece of art. Difficult to tell how much room you have once you do that. Post new picture from door entry and would love to see a better picture of the porch as well. Ideally, I would prefer to have the TV on the wall where the buffet is going and if there is room for at least one comfy chair where buffet is currently, it would be wonderful.

You will have to picture this idea in your space. What if you added storage along walls, under windows (could be a window seat with a cushion) and all the toys were stored there when company comes. Then you put two chairs in front of fireplace/t v.

The playroom out back would make a great dining area. All those great windows would make the room so special.

Perhaps a smaller loveseat or settee or bench where the bar cart is.

I would move the table and chairs closer to the sunroom first. Then I would move the tea cart under the painting and put a few decorative pieces on the cart. You could add two medium-size upholstered chairs in the fireplace zone for reading to the kids or watching tv. Can the TV be moved to above the console/cabinet in the dining area, or maybe just lowered to the fireplace mantel...it's pretty high now.

Judy G we had the table in there but for the everyday it didn't work esp w little one ....I totally see ur vision though and unfortunately we have base board heat so wall storage is tricky ....thank u so much for ur ideas

I do think that once you move the buffet to the other wall with the TV on it and center the table that you could steal the comfy chair that is on the porch and put it where the buffet is currently at a bit of an angle. A floor lamp next to it or small table with lamp would be a perfect place to sit and have coffee or read. With the table centered on the fireplace and TV on buffet, viewing will be easier. Ideally, you would put the kids toys and coat rack on the other side of the porch where they aren't visible from the front door. It does look like the kitchen table could be where the easel is now and it wouldn't be any further away than it is now. that would really solve your problems.

No problem at all. I think storage would solve some of your problems with little ones.

Hey michellebrickhouse, have you considered a plant? I think a fresh exotic dwarf tree would really bring some light and life in. I have a dwarf avocado tree in my living room and I love it. Kids might think it's neat too. Lighting can be tricky so I used an LED growlight. I recommend the 40W Aspect just because it blends well with the plant and furniture. Good luck!

I would suggest a reading nook and just THINK of the storage you could create!

And some whimsy large letters for the reading nook would be dynamite!

Not sure if this is out of your budget but if you want/need to keep table near fireplace area then how about a narrow farmhouse style table centered in front of fireplace with lower back chairs or some with good lines on one side and bench style on the other side to give a better view of all the stonework. Also, adding 2 narrower upholstered armchairs or side chairs on the wall where your large painting is. Then you could mount the tv on the small wall that has nothing on it with a wooden storage piece below it (kid stuff) also mounted to wall so it doesn't protrude out too far. Like photo idea below but not modern, something farmhouse or transitional. Best of luck!
