I like beadboard in smaller doses painted white. How about taking some of it out?

Thanks, that's one option we are taking. Removing part of the wall but leaving the ceiling or vice versa and painting it white. Thanks for the suggestion.

I would remove it from the walls but leave the beadboard on ceiling and paint it a sky blue, like what was often done on old-timey porches.
