Curtain Dilemma

I'm trying to decide what to do for curtains in our living room/kitchen. This door and window look out to a sunroom and are the only light sources in the room, so I don't want anything super heavy. The door is just the right side/panel and opens on the right. My main dilemma is do I put a rod over both the door and window or just the window? If I do it over both, does a panel (or more) hang between the two and block that section of wall completely? Is there enough room on the left side of the door for curtain panels to hang? The window has blinds for when we need privacy, so I'm not super worried about that (although the door does not). Mostly for decorating purposes.

if you don't need anything on doors, leave them as is. drapes on the dining window would look lovely, although the prints and the trash can would have to go somewhere else to hang any

Based on what I could view from the picture you submitted, curtains are not the best option. The window looks like a bay window so placing a rod across a bay window and french doors will look awkward since they are they are not similar on style and function. If you are seeking window treatments because you want a decorative option you may want to consider a decorative top treatment such as a valance or cornice.

Thank you for that input. It's not actually a bay window, but t does kind of look like it from that phone. Here is a better shot:

Thanks for uploading a pic from a new angle. I recommend installing drapery on the window only. If you opt for decorative drapes instead of panels that close and completely cover the window, the fabric stack will be minimal and won't cover too much of the window.

Installing drapery over french doors is doable when you have a lot of space on both sides of the trim and unfortunately there is not a lot of space on the right between the doors and window. You could install Roman shades on the doors in a fabric that coordinates with the drapery fabric for the window.

The layout of your door and window is common and a dilemma that a lot of homeowners agonize over.

Sheer linen curtains on one rod over door and window, soft and flowing.

Curtains on the window only, something light and sheer. Nothing on the French doors.

Put the TV somewhere else, uncluttered the mantel, honour the art, and leave the window/door as is.

Thank you everyone! If I do decide to do curtains, they will definitely be light in color and texture. I'm leaning towards just over the window now.

Unfortunately, there is no where else to put the tv. There is only one wall for a couch, and one other wall for any sort of stand to put a tv on. It's a very narrow living room.
