Why don't you like it? btw, I like it. You'll add what color[s] go with the medium blue in art, etc..... there are: warm like yellow, cool like berry, etc....

Did they suggest it to lighten? to freshen considering floors are wood?

Might be cute to repaint the chairs and the bench to a canary yellow or your coral color you like then add a big piece of art to the wall there by the table with the mix of navy and the color you choose.

I would prefer the wood chairs the same as table with two fabric chairs in a fun multi color pattern.

the blue is too bright

I like your one photo with wood top table and the rest white. Keep fabric on chairs to marry the two areas together. I don't necessarily think you need the white distressing to look coastal.

It's too bad you were given bad advice to paint the walnut table and chairs. I think the table top looks dull and the blue in the chairs detracts from your island, which should be the star of the room. At his point, I would strip and re-stain just the top of the table. Or, since you like the rustic look, you could try heavily sanding it so you have some gray paint with the wood. Then paint the chairs and bench gray.

I love your kitchen, it's beautiful! I think your table need some warmer wood chairs with (possibly) some fabric chair pads or table linens to bring in the blue.

Can you strip it and stain it like driftwood? I agree with you, this paint was not a good choice, it looks like cement.

If you haven't started adding your coral/turq. you won't know if this turns out ok.
