Hello! Happy Year of the Rooster!

I think of the garden every day. Can't wait to greet these old friends again this spring. :)

Game Plan TB - new for me this year and I really loved it. Fantastic colour!

Grand Canyon Sunset TB - think I may have lost this one to rot later in the season. I hope some of it survived!

    Just stopped in from the Daylily forum [we did the alphabet too] to see the irises. Lots of great Irises here. Grand Canyon is especially beautiful.

      The petal substance of 'Got Milk' looks like silk! 'Grand Canyon' is superb!

      I'm seeing a pink/lavender when I search for 'Genuflect'. Who is this yummy coral pink?

      Thanks Brad! I was a lurker on the daylily alphabet... I'm just starting my collection and don't have many pics of my own yet but loved watching. The alphabet threads really make the winter more bearable, don't they? Not to mention the rose alphabet... sometimes even the hosta alphabet! lol

      Redwolf, Yes the alphabet threads are exellent! I only have a few Irises, mainly NOIDS, so I will probably remain a lurker. I have a common two-toned dark purple, a lavender, a white that likes to lie down, a Siberian Iris Lights of Paris, a small dark purple [different kind of Iris], and KarenPA gave me Sea Swells and City Lights last year. I don't think I can expand much because I have a small yard and around 150 daylilies, though I do want to get a red Iris sometime.

      Here's that small Iris. I was wondering what type it is.

      it's a Siberian iris... great plants! one of the more common that looks like that is Caesar's Brother, but it's really hard to say. It's lovely though! Has it formed a good clump?

      I'm really developing a taste for the siberians. Such delicate, graceful flowers and foliage. And a great way to carry the bloom time through until things like daylilies take over! :)

      Unfortunately my purple Siberian has only one or two blooms per plant and that bloom lasts only a couple of days. At least half the plants have no stems. Lights of Paris blooms much better but is relatively slow to increase.

      Hmm, that is unfortunate. Dividing might help - does it get full sun? While Siberians will grow well in shade, they definitely bloom less.

      It had a fair amount of sun. Where I moved it to will be full sun. I hope it works!
