What is the wood look on the walls?

    It is wood. The wood was salvaged from the original building on the site.

    Can you tell me what kind of wood this is and if you used varying widths of wood planks? It is kind of hard to tell from photo.

    The wood species is probably Douglas Fir (not really sure) and yes the widths vary as they were sourced from both wall framing and floor joists-- 2x4's, 2x6's, 2x10's etc.

    I understand the wood is covered with water-based protection coat. Is thereanotherlayer ofprotection between the wood and the plaster wall? Also, what nails did you use for the wood?
