Door Handle and Lock?

How do you guarantee the door shut? Did the dead bolt have to be enabled?

    Not sure what you mean by "enabled".

    When the door is closed, you have to latch it yourself.

    Sorry, trying to be more clear. If you wanted to close the door but n to lock it how will it stay shut? Is ball catch or something being used? Or like if I have a chile and who wants to go outside and play, but does not want to lock the door. How do we ensure the door stays shut?

    it has a flat spot that is in the pivot hinge, and it just stays in the shut position.

    the door is 4 1/2" thick so it's too heavy to be moved by the wind.
