Bathroom backsplash-too much?

I think this might be too much for this little area. Maybe a little smaller ledgestone?

Any advice? And where should I stop the backsplash? About 1/3 up or so?

Thanks!

I think it's pretty, although I don't know if it goes with the floor (it doesn't on my monitor, but that doesn't mean anything since nobody can really gauge color on their computer). If you go smaller, it will look busier.

I think it's too rustic for your spa, too busy and gold for your counter, and dated. I associate it with kitchen backsplashes when gold granite and red cherry cabinets were popular.

Thanks mayflowers. We have it in front of the fireplace. But I can see where it just doesn't quite fit here.

This will be a project for another year probably! After measuring our closet system a bit wrong we have to reconfigure. It's like Lego!

Yes, it's great for a fireplace. But rough stone isn't being used in kitchens now and I can't think of a bath I've seen it in. Marble and marble-like quartz is a very strong trend now, so I'm seeing a lot of backsplashes with white and gray ceramic tile, crackle tile, marble subways--that sort of thing.

What about a 4" backsplash that is from the counter material? I personally like the clean look of the 4" backsplash.

I did not do a back splash at all and it really has not been an issue in an adult's bath, the kids have and need one in my house though ;) can you forgo one all together?

Enduring, the 4" backsplash in the Cambria would be $800! And I think it interferes with the outlets as well.

We'll probably forgo it for now and revisit when I feel like going to tile stores!

    $800?? How is that possible?

The backsplash isn't the place where I'd make a design statement. I'd stick with the clean, modern look of the rest of the room. Maybe a 4 x 8" subway to minimize grout lines? I think you could add a patterned rug for some color because you have so much floor space.

I think your outlets are high enough. If not have the splash made to fit. $800 :O

$800 because they have to take the 3cm quartz and make it 2cm quartz, which invloves IDK, getting nuns from the holy land to gently massage it by hand to get that 1cm off.

In ds's much smaller br we got it because it took 4 tries for the counter to be right that they did it to thank us for being so patient, that was $700.

Is your counter 3cm? it looks like it is. My counter is 3cm and so is the backsplash.

Counter is 3cm. They make the backsplash out of 2 cm over here!

And I would NOT recommend you use a mosaic like this. That's what I mean by DIY.

Because of the conflict between the counter pattern and the splash tiles?

Mayflowers, where did all your examples go?! I like those ideas. I posted then had to get my kid showered after swimming so didn't respond to all of them...then got distracted by a tree trunk ;)

Love your ideas. I wouldn't go crazy there at all for backsplash. I also don't want grey..it doesn't do anything for the space.

Yes there were a lot of nice examples Mayflowers.

    Thanks mayflowers, saved a bunch!

If you're still looking enduring, ds's backsplash. Same Cambria. See the 2 cm backsplash vs the 3cm counter?

Is that another vanity installation layout like your master bath? The install of counter and backsplash look nice. Thanks.

It's similar, enduring. We have a lot of angles in this house!

How about a subway tile in the same shade as your floor?
