following. I'm really curious about the solutions for this. are you going to extend the right wall up to the ceiling?

Not sure yet! I am looking for solutions. Wondering about a small loft or a spot to display items or as you metioned we may extend the wall up to the ceiling. The big issue is that the door if off centre to the peak. There is another peak outside which it is centre to so we cant move it.

What is the room to the right going to be?

Have you considered a wall to the left so that things aren't off center?

I think off center is fine for contemporary's - if not, it could be disconcerting.

I would frame a new peak below the existing one that would be centered on the door. How far into the room I would take it depends on the overall feel of the room which is hard to comment on from just one picture. It could be for just a few feet thus creating an entrance to the larger room. I would also frame the wall on the right side to the same height as the left side before starting the sloped ceiling for that section.

AnthonyMegGait stole my thunder. I'd make lower open ceiling centered over door, then let it open full height where framing on right ends.

Yeah, AnthonyMegGait's response would disguise the interior/exterior symmetry differences but symmetry isn't always the best answer. Balance is more important and often comes with symmetry but can also be achieved without it. Asymmetry tends to be more dynamic, playful, interesting.

If you take the library walls higher, you can do some awesome built-ins.....
