Personally, I don't and wouldn't use any herbicides in a vegetable garden. Weeding, mulching and mowing/clipping can keep the weeds at bay. The trick is little and often.

However, if you want to use them go and see what's offer at the garden centre. Read the instructions on what to use where and how to apply.

I too would not use herbicides in an edible garden. It is easy to weed an empty one so get everything cleared out before you plant this spring. Generally I do it a couple of times (the first a good hard weed, the second and/or third just to catch any seedlings that might sprout). After planting and the plants germinate and begin to grow, mulch between the plants to keep weeds down. And I don't know about you but I check my veggie garden on a daily basis to see if anything needs water and to check for pest and disease issues and it is very easy and takes no time at all to pull whatever weeds you may see developing day to day.

You just have to stay on top of the situation.
