Formal living rooms look their best with floor length draperies. Is the vent on the floor out a bit from the molding? Or is it on the wall? Because if it is a floor mount and far enough out from the wall then maybe the sheers can go behind the vent. There is no problem also if you do the sheers just a little shorter than the height of the vent. No one will really notice that and you will be as close as possible to floor length. I don't have a problem with Kirsch rods, it has a lot to do with dressing down the drapery after installation and being sure the master carrier fits over the secondary carrier. Set pins tightly and move the master out a little. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I would suggest removing the verticals and stick with horizontal blinds or shades. You will be amazed at how open the room will look once those verticals and the valance come down. I would recommend doing one large treatment or three separate. If you did three I would recommend one large in the middle covering the two inside panels and one on each outside panel. You have crank out windows so it may be nice to do a shutter with a frame so you can have your slats open without hearing the slats clank when your windows are open. That way too your husband can tilt and control the shutters to see whats going on outside. If you did the shutters I would recommend either leaving them without a valance or doing simple side panels to bring in some color. You can also do a window shading versus a silhouette, which will give you the same look but at a less expensive price.

Thelinstyle, since I'm not paying for it - these gorgeous windows deserve sheer linen or stubbed silk complete with the curve on the left. They would give you the privacy of the mini blinds and flatter the beautiful outside - couldn't see the scenery. And while you are at it, wireless open/close. You balcony overview (there must be a snazzy word for it) brings back sweet memories of my view long ago.

We recently bought a house in GTA and got new windows.i hasn’t done much of reading on windows but I wanted some big picture windows so got all the windows in the back (that included family room,kitchen and den) done to picture window except for the patio door and one corner single window in the family room . Now I am feeling I have gone over board with them but dh feels having a door that we can open is enough ventilation. Can someone suggest as to what can be done . Thanks in advance .
