This is known as a terminal spike. You plant can live, but will not produce more leaves. Often, if you wait long enough, the plant will produce a keiki (new baby plant), either at its base or on the flower spike itself. The main plant could possibly produce spikes from in between leaves again, but since it cannot produce new leaves, there's not much to be done, other than hope for keikis!

I wish I knew! But I was poking around on some other forums, and judging by the beautiful branched spike you have, there is a possibility of more than one keiki sprouting off of it! You'll have to care for them ON the spike until they grow a decent set of roots (a couple of inches long), which may be a challenge ... but a fun one, right? ;)
