My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

what type of wood and stain? beautiful

    The floor is a 2 1/4" red oak planks (#1) with a custom mixed walnut-like stain and a semi-gloss moisture cure urethane finish.

      Would you consider sharing the mix - even by email? I have tried several blends of walnut stains now (duraseal) and can't get this look. When I try to lighten dark walnut, the grain comes out almost black and there is a much greater contrast. It is perfect for us living by the beach, but our contractors want me to pick by tomorrow!

      Notes from our hardwood guy:

      -I used the water base (NOT ALCOHOL BASE) - The more dye the darker the final product.

      -The color was either Standard Brown Walnut or Dark Brown Walnut (he does not recall)
