Mold (?) on Philodendron! Cause for concern?

Hi All,

I recently repotted this lemon heart-leaf philodendron and there looks to be some fuzzy white mold or fungus over the soil/on the stems where they meet the soil. Is this a cause for concern? What should I do?


To describe the white stuff, it looks 'hairy'. I haven't found anything quite like it searching on Google images.

    "Miracle Grow Moisture Control"

    Maybe the worst potting soil you can use for houseplants - excessively moisture retentive and too fast to collapse and compact. And never water on a "schedule" - water when the soil conditions and the plant needs indicate.
