No Q roses here but off topic, how is it going up there Beth? Are you anywhere near the Oroville dam?

Yeah, Oroville is just below us about 20+mi. We're in no danger. I guess lots of people have come up here to Paradise and Chico to evacuate. Heard some complaints on Facebook about local motels jacking their prices way up. They opened up the Fair Grounds in Chico and all sorts of churches and other places helping out. Just heard on the news about half an hour ago that the spillway is slowing down a bit. Apparently the lake is beginning to level off. We are expecting more rain Wed and Thurs. That's not so much of a problem. It's if the temps are warmer, the rain will melt the snow in the higher Sierras and that will bring lots of run-off. That's basically what's happening now. It's the melting snow and run-off flowing into the lake that's causing the overflow now. That, and Shasta Dam is releasing water as well, because they are almost at peak.

So glad to hear you are safe. We have the same issues here as well. I am fine but a couple of miles from me, they are releasing even more water from the Friant dam and they are looking at flooding for homes near the river. Just wish the water would go into the aquifer quicker as we are still having problems with land sinking due to ag pumping water out of the aquifer at alarming rates. Hate to see this precious resource just heading down to the ocean without saving it somehow. We are supposed to get more rain here as well this week.
